Bill Meinhardt defeated Kirk Tallant 4 games to 2 in the finals to complete a fantastic showing in the three day Strat-O-Matic baseball competition and claim the $5000 top prize. Meinhardt finished the tournament with a combined record of 39-14 against some of the top Strat players in the country. This was Meinhardt's third world championship to further establish him as the best tournament Strat player in the country.
